Just over 700 birds were basketed for the North Road Championships Clubs Blue Riband event from Lerwick in the Shetland Isles all battling to get thier owners name on teh prestigous King George V Cup.

This will be the clubs 104th race from the island and the route is no walk in the park, every member competing must fly a minimum of 475 miles (764km) and the longer flyers flying up to 600 miles (965km0 standing in their way a minimum of 100 miles of north sea.
Our transporter arrived on the island this morning with help from our race sponsors UNIKON and North link Ferries. The weather is good over there and reports are showing that we could have a liberation tomorrow. A call is booked with our guy on the ‘oil platform’ at out sea from 4;45 and other contacts through till 05:15 . Please call back for your updates on the race. Thank you and Good Luck
