Since its conception in 2023 when the NRCC futurity race was concieved with rings being offered to all members of recognised unions of the united kingdom the RPRA, NEHU, NPA,SHU WHU NWHU so because the NRCC wanted its futurity race to promote the NRCC & its concept of distance racing it wanted to allow everyone to be able to participate in the event. However because the main prize money is generated from ring sales and young bird sales every futurity ring that is sold & put on a young bird must be offered for sale this is what generates the fantastic amount of prize moey available & in three years it has aciheved the following

The prize money is split into two sections, an East & West section, divided equally between the breeder & buyer of the YBs, below was the prizemoney breakdown for last seasons futurity race.

The young birds that are put in the futurity sales are from the very best fanciers in the UK & are for racing in our futurity race & not for stock purposes, because this is a NRCC futurity race only those fanciers that fly 475 mile & over from Lerwick are able to purchase the YBs for sale since the NRCC exists to promote long distance North Road racing those faniers flying shorter than 475 miles although can buy futurity rings & offer their ybs for sale as a breeder are outside the race radius & therfore cannot buy the ybs that are available.

The 2026 futurity sales dates of futurity rung babies, will take place every Tuesday starting at 7pm on the 24th of February via the NRCC watts app group which fanciers are advised to join to be able to watch or take part in the sales which details can be found on the NRCC web site as are the futurity race rules, right through to the 12th of May obviously if there is a high number of ybs available for sale in certain week additional sale dates will be added as required. The futurity race will take place from Dunbar on the 12th September 2026 obviously the NRCC prides itself in that the welfare of all our birds is paramount & the are convoyed in our superb NRCC transporter by our wonderful chief convoyer Dave Pettit and driver Chris Johnson, this is also backed up by Ray Luffman who is the chief race controller for all NRCC races & does a fantastic job with his great team of advisors so you know your birds will be excellently looked after with our great team of helpers behind the scenes.
