As the morning sun rises over Lerwick, conditions at the liberation point are bright. However, the weather en route is currently far from favourable, with extensive cloud and rain lying across the race route.
Following a full assessment of the conditions, our Convoyer has made the decision to declare a holdover in the best interests of the pigeons. There will be no race from Lerwick today.
The welfare of our birds will always remain our highest priority, and we will continue to monitor the forecast closely before making any further decisions. Members are asked to keep an eye on our social media platforms and website, where regular updates will be posted as more information becomes available, however there will be no liberation from Lerwick today
